Black Bean Hummus

In keeping with my hummus theme for this part of the week, I have another non-traditional hummus recipe for you to try. Black Bean Hummus!

Like my post from yesterday, I found this recipe when I was on my vegetarian spree, and let me just say...it's delicious! It's from Melissa d'Arabian from Food Network, and she knows how to make a mean hummus. Or at least that's what I think!

This one gives hummus a whole new taste, and I think that it's wonderful. The recipe also doesn't contain tahini, but if you want to add it in, feel free to add to your taste!  The recipe takes about 15 minutes to make from start to finish, so you can have some stinkin' awesome hummus in no time! :)

Happy eating,
~HB~

Black Bean Hummus
  • 1 cup cooked black beans
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon white wine vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/2 head iceberg lettuce, cut into wedges

Blend all the ingredients, except the lettuce, in a food processor until almost smooth. Let sit for 15 minutes before serving
