Homemade Lemonade Part 3: Lavender edition!

For memorial day (May 28th) we had some friends over for a barbecue. We wanted to make the time special for them (they are missionaries in another country on home leave), so I decided that one of the things that I would contribute would be lavender lemonade. The only thing to do was to figure out how to make it!

This recipe is different from the other two because it uses a simple syrup infused with lavender to sweeten, instead of straight up sugar. And....it takes a bit longer to make, so be sure that you allow enough time to get it just right! :)
Happy eating,
~HB~
Lavender Lemonade

2-1/2 C. Water
1 C. Sugar
1 T. dried Lavender Flowers
2-1/2 C. Cold Water
1 C. Lemon Juice

In a large saucepan, bring water and sugar to a boil. Remove from the heat and add lavender flowers. Cover and let stand for 1 hour
Strain, discarding lavender. Stir in cold water and lemon juice. Serve over ice.
